Tour D - 11 day trip Grand tour of the Czech and Slovak Republic

1st day

We´ll drive to Karlsbad – Karlovy Vary visit the famous Moser museum (closed Sat-Sun) and taste the mineral springs of the most renowned czech spa famous for its parks and fin de siecle buildings. After lunch a 50 min drive will take us to Marianske Lazne – Marienbad. The city tours takes approx. 1hour we´ll see the ornate spa buildings the parks and the impressive “Kolonada” – shelter for pacients accomm in a *** hotel

2nd day

Approximately 1hr drive to Pilsen the famous Pilsner Urquell beer town the largest town of West Bohemia. Short stop on the main market place. The trip continues through picturesque scenery of West Bohemia to Prachatice a well preserved medieval town. Short stop. Arrival to Ceske Budejovice, the hub of South Bohemia. Sightseeing by foot to see the main square and environs. Accommod in a *** or **** hotel.

3rd day

Morning visit of Ceský Krumlov a UNESCO listed town, visit of Hluboka chateau with very rich collections. 30 min drive to Trebon a picturesque South Bohemian town. Arrival to Telc 13th ct town – UNESCO listed. Overnight *** Hotel Celerin or Na hrazi

4th day

Morning tour of the renaissance Telc castle, then we´ll proceed approx 45 min to Jaromerice nad Rokytnou to see its french park and rich baroque interior of the 18th ct chateau famous for opera performances back in the 18th ct. The drive continues through “Podyji” national park with picture stop at Vranov nad Dyji. Arrival to Znojmo a 10th ct medieval town. Accommod in *** hotel.

5th day

In the morning short sightseeing of Znojmo monuments by foot. Then proceed to visit Mikulov small historical town in the wine region of South Moravia. Arrival to Lednice and visit of one of the finest neogothic castles in the country. Late afternoon arrival to Brno, town of 400 000 inhabitants. Overnight in *** or **** hotels.

6th day

Morning tour to the natural preserve “Moravian Karst” to see Macocha abyss and the stalactite cave. After lunch approx 1hr drive to Kromeriz lovely historical town once the seat of the moravian archbishops. Visit the impressive Kromeriz chateau and its baroque gardens. Late afternoon arrival to Brno a short panoramic tour and sightseeing by foot to see the center its gothic city hall and the Reduta 18th ct theatre where the young Mozart performed. Overnight in Brno.

7th day

Morning departure to Slovakia via Little Carpathian Mountains, stop in Modra a wine town in the vicinity of Bratislava – slovak capital town of 420000 inhab. Accommodation in *** or **** hotel. Afternoon city tour by car and approx 1hr walk through the center to see the gothic city hall and the church of St.Martin in the old town.

8th day

Departure to the High Tatra Mountains with a stop in Banska Bystrica probably the most beautiful historical Slovak town (population 90 000). Scenic route, Donovaly pass crossing the Low Tatra Mountains and small villages arrival to Stary Smokovec.

9th day

Full day tour of the Tatra National Park in mountains resort and typical villages. We will see Strbske pleso, the site of world championships in nordic disciplines. Also Tatranska Lomnica the oldest mountain resort and Zdiar a picturesque mountain village will be visited. Weather permiting – ride by cablecar to enjoy a wonderful view of the highest slovak mountains.


Morning departure back to the Czech Republic via Zilina and the Beskydy Mountains. Lovely countryside, visit of the open air Valachian museum. Overnight in Roznov pod Radhostem.


Morning departure to Olomouc ones the capital of Moravia a well preserved historical town with an impressive old square. Continue to Litomysl to see its renaissance castle and the birthplace of Smetana – famous czech composer. On the way to Prague a short stop in Kutna Hora a UNESCO listed 13th ct silver town with imposing St.Barbara church. Accommodation *** hotel.
